Inspired by friendship bracelets, fortune cookies, and the choice to embrace life’s ups and downs with humor and positivity. Growing up in a house of all girls in the early 2000s my memories are filled with colors, patterns, and materials that to me are quintessential of the era, think Lizzie McGuire, lip smackers, and groovy girls. Even today, anything made of sparkly plastic brings out a nostalgia for simpler times when my sisters and I played Polly pockets and learned how to make friendship bracelets on the pool deck. Yet, in all reality, life wasn’t perfect then just like it isn’t now. These band aids are wearable and sharable inside jokes, tokens of care, and reminders of resilience.
